Midjourney 5.2 is wild!

Zoom, Shorten, and more

As many of you know, I love using Midjourney. In my opinion, It’s the highest quality, most versatile image/art generator out there and they just released a new version yesterday!

The latest update from the Midjourney team, Midjourney 5.2, is packed with innovative features that promise to redefine the user's creative experience. Here are some of the key enhancements:

1. New Aesthetic System: The update brings improved aesthetics, sharper images, and increased diversity. The stylize command has been enhanced to have a stronger effect on the stylization applied to your image. The V5.2 version has been turned on by default, but users can easily switch back to V5.1 at any time.

2. High Variation Mode: This new feature is turned on by default and makes all variation jobs much more varied. Users can choose the strength of variation they want, providing more options to test variations of the outputs.

3. /shorten Command: This new feature allows users to analyze a prompt and get suggestions on what words might not be doing anything and which ones might be key. This can be a great help in refining the prompt engineering effort.

4. Zoom Out Feature: All upscales now have 'zoom out' buttons that can be used to reframe the image. This feature pulls the camera out and fills in details on all sides, adding depth and richness to the visuals. Users can also make a non-square image into a square one or change the aspect ratio or precise zoom.

It appears that the Zoom Out and Zoom In functions are backwards compatible to at least version 5.1, but likely all previous versions of MJ, which is a game changer. Here’s the same prompt from 5.1 and with the zoom out.

In summary, Midjourney 5.2 offers improved aesthetics, sharper images, enhanced coherence, and new features like the /shorten command and the Zoom Out feature, all designed to elevate the quality of your visual outputs and enhance your creative journey.

Gamma.app is an AI presentation tool

Make presentation decks with a few simply prompts! Gamma.app just announced that they’ve upgraded their platform to include exportable Powerpoint slides - this means you can start in Gamma, create your decks, and then export them to powerpoint to edit / present.

I gave it a quick spin and asked for a 6-8 page deck on the history of June, including obscure facts if possible. The total process took less than a minute! You can see the output at the link below.
